IMPORTANT DATES FOR MSA 2008

Potential scholar nominees are advised to keep these dates in mind. This timeline details when to expect mailings and information about the Academy, as well as important deadlines you will need to follow.

Late Fall

Student nomination materials and faculty and staff applications will be mailed across the state.

Early April

Notification letters are mailed to nominees who have been selected to MSA 2008.

Course packets and miscellaneous information will be posted for incoming scholars. This information will detail all of the available courses and other activities.

Scholars will be responsible for downloading and completing all forms.

April 16

Deadline for returning course registration, extra-curricular preferences, teacher nominations, and medical information.

Course registration serves as acceptance of your selection to the Academy. Registration must be postmarked by this date if you wish to attend the Academy.

Mid-May

Spring Information Sessions for scholars and family members are held at various locations around the state. These optional sessions will give you an opportunity to ask questions of MSA staff, faculty, and past scholars, as well as meet other incoming scholars and their families. These information sessions are sponsored by MSAAA: The Missouri Scholars Academy Alumni Association.

Late May

Course, roommate, resident assistant, and extra-curricular assignments are mailed to all incoming scholars. You will be notified of your major and minor classes, your roommate's name and address, your room and telephone number in the residence hall, and your resident assistant's name.

Resident assistants correspond with scholars to introduce themselves and relay any last minute information.

June 8

Move in day. Please plan your arrival at Mark Twain Hall according to the schedule mailed to you beforehand.

A brief opening ceremony will be followed by an orientation session for scholars and parents.

June 22

Parents and Family Day. Family members are invited to visit their scholars and share a special day in the life of the Academy.

June 28

Morning: Closing ceremony and departure.
